Sergey Ryazansky is one of the most popular and richest Biologist who was born on November 13, 1974 in Moscow, Russia. Sergey Nikolayevich Ryazansky (Russian: Sergei Nikolaevich Riazanskii ; born on November 13, 1974) is a Russian Cosmonaut. He was chosen as the head of the IMBP-6 cosmonaut group in 2003. He then transferred into the TsPK Cosmonaut Group. Ryazansky was the first person to fly into space aboard the Soyuz TMA- 10M/Expedition37/Expedition 38 mission in September 2013 until March 2014. In 2017 Ryazansky went back to the space station.. He was his commander for Soyuz MS-05, and served as Flight Engineer on Expedition 52 / 53.

Ryazansky made his first spacewalk outside of the ISS alongside the cosmonaut Oleg Kotov on the 9th of November 2013.. They carried the Olympic torch to

  1. Winter Olympic Games outside ISS. They also continued their work on an extravehicular activity station as well as a biaxial-pointing platform, by taking off launch brackets and bolts and also relocating an experimental device. The plan to install a foot restraint at the seat that is used to mount the workstation was put off until an upcoming spacewalk, after the spacewalkers observed some issues regarding the alignment of the platform. The spacewalk ran for 5 hours and 50 minutes.

On 27 January 2014, Ryazansky did perform his third spacewalk outside the ISS with cosmonaut Oleg Kotov. The cosmonauts completed work that could not be finished up during their last spacewalk on December 27. After exiting the Pirs docking compartment, the two cosmonauts arrived at the outside of the Zvezda service module. They then installed a high resolution camera and a medium resolution camera to capture Earth imagery, however the medium resolution camera again experienced telemetry issues. Ryazansky and Kotov also removed a cassette container attached to the Pirs docking compartment, installed earlier as part of a materials exposure experiment. They also removed a worksite interface adapter attached to a portable data grapple fixture on the Zarya module to ensure that future operations with the Canadarm2 robotic arm will not be disrupted. The spacewalk marked the fourth EVA conducted during the Expedition 38 and lasted six hours and eight minutes.

On 17 August 2017, Ryazansky performed his fourth spacewalk with cosmonaut Fyodor Yurchikhin. The cosmonauts tested a new version of the Orlan space suit, deploying five nano-satellites and installing external experiments. Spacewalk lasted of 7 hours, 34 minutes.

On the 27th of December, 2013, Ryazansky and Kotov were still out of the ISS to conduct an orbital walk. The cosmonauts were able to attach to two (high as well as medium resolution) cameras in an agreement to sell commercial products between the Canadian company as well as the Russian Federal Space Agency to provide views of Earth for internet-connected subscribers. Kotov directed the telemetry and data cables to cameras with medium resolution however, the flight control team located at the Russian Mission Control Center did not observe the expected telemetry or electrical connectivity of the cameras. In the end, the cosmonauts were directed to take down the cameras and bring them to the ISS to further study. Alongside the camera installation, Ryazansky and Kotov also took off and jettisoned Vsplesk experiment software created to study seismic activity with high-energy particle streams within the earth’s near-Earth space. The spacewalkers next attached the more sophisticated earthquake-monitoring Seismoprognoz experiment to a Zvezda handrail. The spacewalk took eight hours seven mins and extended the record of the most long Russian spacewalk, set by Expedition 36 cosmonauts Fyodor Yurchikhin and Alexander Misurkin, who conducted the 7-hour, 29-minute spacewalk on the 16th of August, 2013.
