Pollin published, along with Thomas Herndon from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Michael Ash, a paper that found errors in Kenneth Rogoff and Carmen Reinhart’s 2010 paper “Growth In a Time of Debt”.
After the 2013 Venezuelan presidential elections, Pollin and his associates defended Nicolas Maduro. They stated that the Venezuelan government had performed sufficient audits and that Maduro was elected president. The leftist Spanish party Podemos joined Pollin to create a plan for renewable energy that would create jobs and increase Spain’s independence in energy.
