However, Quin won his first major international gold medal when he won silver in the event, which was won by Marc Evers of the Netherlands. Quin continued his winning streak in Eindhoven in the year he represented Great Britain at his second IPC World Championships, this time on British soil as the competition took place in Glasgow. Similar to the European performance, Quin won silver behind Evers and was second with the world record-holder Yasuhiro Tanaka, with whom he also recorded a speed of 1:07.99.

In 2012, Quin earned his very first British medal, when he claimed bronze in the MC 100m breaststroke race at the London Aquatics Centre. In the following year Quin was hit with a loss when he did not be included in the British team to compete in the 2012 Summer Paralympics in the midst of missing qualifying with 0.11 seconds. Quin rallied in 2013 to take the gold medal in the British Gas International event in March when he set his personal best for the breaststroke 100m. In the following month, he earned an invitation to the British team for the World Championship qualification trials held in Sheffield. In 2013, at the IPC Swimming World Championships in Montreal, Quinn finished second in his heat, and in the final race, he recorded the timing of 1:08.81 to place fifth.

Scott Quin (born 1 July 1990) is an Scottish parasport swimmer who competes at S14, SB14 and SM14 events of classification, with a specialization in 100m breaststroke. He has been awarded medals at each of the IPC Swimming European Championships and the IPC Swimming World Championships.

Quin started swimming in the year 2000. He joined his first club Loanhead Dolphins. He switched club to Warrender Baths Club and in 2011 he made a major competitive breakthrough when he finished fifth in the MC (multi- classification) 100m breaststroke at the British Swimming Championships in Manchester. The results he achieved in Manchester helped him earn an invitation to the British team to participate in the 2011 IPC Swimming European Championships in Berlin which he won again, finishing fiveth at the end of the competition.
