McPhee had been asked to assist by controlling Lindores who was the regular pilot inactive for the event. The team took the victory in the four-kilometer tandem race, defending back to title back for Scott and securing Bryce’s debut title. In the lead up to the 2012 London Paralympics, McPhee was integral to Modra’s recovery back on the bike to ensure he was prepared to compete. In the Games McPhee took home a gold medal in the 4 km men’s Tandem Pursuit with Modra and established a new record world time for the race. After the Games Scott took a break from tandem cycling, and returned to single bicycle racing. In 2013, Scott was a racer in the race of Euride Racing in the Australian National Road Series. Scott has also raced for Cycling Team Tomacc based in Poperinge, Belgium for the 2014/2015 seasons.

McPhee was an sighted pilot for visually disabled athlete Kieran Modra during tandem racing. In 2011, at the Paracycling World Track Championships held in Montichiari Italy, the team won the four-kilometer tandem race in a world record time. Through the year, the team won numerous times throughout Europe on roads and tracks, including a bronze at the Segovia, Spain World cup road time trial. He also helmed for Modra in 2011, the UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships in Copenhagen but as the favourites for the time trial on the road the team returned to their home early as Kieran was injured by a fractured collarbone during a crash in training before the event.
