Scott Beason (born October 13 in 1969) is a popular American Talk radio presenter. He was an Republican Former member of the Alabama Senate which represented the 17th District from 2006 to 2014. He was unsuccessful for the seat in 2012 when the incumbent Spencer Bachus for the GOP nomination to the U.S. House of Representatives in Alabama’s 6th congressional district. Beason was unsuccessful in his bid to be elected for the post the following year. 2014.The 17th Senate District currently includes western and northern Jefferson County as well as the majority of St. Clair County. From 1998 until 2006, Beason was an elected Member of the Alabama House of Representatives.

The year 2006 was the time he was seeking an opportunity to rematch Biddle who was the incumbent in the 17th Senate District. Beason defeated Biddle by a margin of just 59% votes. He was elected the primary election in 2006 with 99%, and then returned to the ballot for 2010 by a margin of 81 percent.

Beason was the senate sponsor of Alabama’s controversial immigration law, parts of which took effect in late September 2011. He has been quoted in the press saying of immigrants, “When their children grow up and get the chance to vote, they vote for Democrats.” He objected to the fact that the law would hurt the Alabama economy, especially agriculture, saying this argument was “absolutely, positively wrong”.

On January 12, 2012, Beason held at a press conference at the Alabama GOP Headquarters, at which he announced his candidacy in the March 13, 2012 Republican primary for Alabama’s 6th congressional district, in which he opposed U.S. Representative Spencer Bachus. Previously, Beason was subject to speculation that he might run for governor in 2014 or 2018.

In 1998, he won an Alabama primary in the runoff for House District 51, where he defeated state representative Jim Townsend with 53% of the votes. Beason won the general election with 91% of the vote. Beason was re-elected in 2002, in the newly redistricted district of 51st.
