Saul Maslavi was born on 14 October 1964 in Tehran, Iran to Feryal Maslavi and Jacob Maslavi. He was raised living in Tehran until he reached the age of eleven years old, at which point his family relocated to England. In England Maslavi was a student at Shiplake College, a boarding school for boys. The year before the date of his high school graduation from Shiplake the school, he emigrated back to United States and attended John L. Miller Great Neck North High School in New York. In 1982, Maslavi enrolled in Baruch College situated in Manhattan New York. His father was Jacob who founded an apparel company named Jovani. He was a student at night and helped him grow his Jovani brand. After a while, he was in love with fashion and its dynamic, innovative and difficult nature. Jovani is now among the most well-known brands in the fashion industry.

The year 2014 was the first time Saul Maslavi was legally appointed the CEO and President for Jovani Fashion. Jovani Fashion.

Jovani Fashion was founded in 1983 by Jacob Maslavi and his sons, Abraham and Saul Maslavi. The company began as a 10 person operation, designing and producing 15 different styles of clothing for boutiques that specialize in specialty. Jovani Fashion began as primarily an evening wear brand, however it expanded into other markets by 1990 such as the rising trend for prom and cocktail. By 1992, Jovani’s acclaim had grown, and the business was flourishing as production moved to China however, patterns and designs were made from the U.S. The year 1996 was the time that Jovani was able to bring on American stylist Sherri Hill to help with the growth of the prom and pageant market and the designer remained with Jovani Fashions for the following 12 years. Following the death of his father at the end of 2006 Maslavi took over the business as the official owner Jovani Fashions. In the following year Maslavi launched an additional Jovani store located in Atlanta, Georgia which was recently renovated in April, 2015.

Maslavi was married Orly Maslavi who is an optometrist from California in 1993. They have four kids, three boys and one girl.
