Satyarup Siddhanta is one of the most popular and richest Mountaineer who was born on April 29, 1983 in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. ASEAN granted Satyarup with with the task of taking the ASEAN flag and the Indonesia Flag, as well as the India flag to the top of the Mt Carstensz Pyramid as a commemorative climb to commemorate the 50th anniversary of ASEAN and the 25th anniversary Dialogue with India. Satyarup presented a lecture on the ASEAN headquarters in Jakarta. In a gesture of respect, images of the ceremony to present the flag are displayed on the walls of the Indian High Commission, Indonesia.

He was congratulated by Governor West Bengal after he successfully made it to the top of Mount Everest on May 21 the 21st of May, 2016.

On December 15, 2017 he summited Vinson Massif, becoming only the fifth Indian civilian to complete the seven summits (Messner’s List and Bass List). He is the first civilian to accomplish this feat from Karnataka (Residence State) and West Bengal (Home State). He is also the 3rd Indian to climb the highest Volcano of the world, Mt. Ojos Del Salado. Satyarup, a certified mountaineer from Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling., has skied the last degree to South Pole, a distance of 111 km. Satyarup is a Techie, Motivational Speaker and an Environmentalist. He is the President and founder of ABETO – “A better tomorrow” foundation, and works as a consultant at Brady Corporation, India.

He was felicitated by the West Bengal Commission for Protection of Child Rights (WBCPCR) in Kolkata on the occasion of State Child Protection Day on 9 June 2018. He dedicated his Kilimanjaro, 2018 climb to the cause of Child Protection and held aloft the WBCPCR poster at the summit.

In the year 2016, Satyarup was initially denied the recognition of his climbing Everest in connection with the allegations of forgery made by Rathod and his wife from Maharashtra. Satyarup filed a complaint with the police couple who altered his photographs from the top. After an extensive investigation, an action was filed against the couple in accordance with Section 66(d) of the Information Technology Act, 2008. A 10-year ban on mountain climbing was imposed on both of them by Nepal Tourism.

Satyarup Siddhanta was born Kolkata and was raised in a small town Berhampore, West Bengal (now Baharampur). He went to school in Mary Immaculate School, Berhampore and graduated from the Higher Secondary School at Gurudas Tarasundari Institution, Berhampore. He earned an B.Tech with a major in Computer Science and Engineering from Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology, Sikkim. He began his career as an engineer for software at Bangalore in 2005.
