Sarah Teelow is one of the most popular and richest Water Skier who was born on January 22, 1993 in Wellington, Australia. Teelow was born at Wellington Hospital in Wellington, New South Wales on 22 January 1993. She is the daughter of Tania (nee Williams) and Chris Teelow; both of her parents have competed in water-skiing events while her mother was twice world champion. The Teelow family owns the business of a swimming pool in Wellington and lives within the city. Teelow has an older brother, Jarrod. She attended the St Mary’s Catholic School in Wellington and finished her education through St Johns College in Dubbo. St Johns College in Dubbo. In the early morning of the 24th November Teelow took part in the 75 mile (121 kilometers) Bridge to Bridge Water Ski Classic on the Hawkesbury River to the north of Sydney. Shortly after the race started, which was conducted in calm waters and an unfavorable breeze, Teelow crossed the Hawkesbury River railway bridge at between 75 and 85 miles an hour (121 up to 137 km/h) prior to her driver slowing and a spectator lifted his left arm in order to notify Teelow of any incoming minor waves. Teelow smashed into the first wave with no issue but her ski was observed to go into the air ahead of her about 2.7 km (1.7 miles) in the course. She spun and cartwheeled through the water. Her ski helmet came off after the very first contact with water.
Her death was investigated by the New South Wales Police Force and the Roads and Maritime Services with co-operation from Ski Racing Australia; the police prepared a report for the New South Wales coroner. The results of the investigation into Teelow’s death were published on 31 May 2018. According to the report, it was unable to determine where the wave that Teelow struck originated from and whether the ski she used contributed to her accident. The report found her helmet was not a contributing factor to her death. The New South Wales deputy state coroner Teresa O’Sullivan recommended Ski Racing Australia develop technical specifications for ski helmets and flotation devices to suit water skiers and inspect and secure safety equipment before the start of races. She also called for the governing body and the Roads and Maritime Services to consider adopting speed restrictions in the Formula 2 category.
In the following years, Teelow made appearances in races around the world and in countries such as Austria, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States. She was a participant in at the Catalina Ski Race, the Grafton Bridge to Bridge, and the Bridge to Bridge events in 2011. Teelow was injured in her ankle in one of the events in 2012, and she was unable to recover for a while. Then, in September of 2013, she took home in the Formula 2 category of that year’s World Waterski Racing Championships in the Spanish archipelago of Canary Islands. As per Teelow’s dad she was planning to move up into the Formula 1 Opens class in the next stage in her career.

Sarah Louise Teelow (22 January 1993 from 22 January 1993 to 24th November, 2013) was an Australian water skier. Her parents were water skiers as well as who run a business that operates a swimming pool She competed in the sport starting at 13 years old. Teelow participated in events across the globe , and she won her first prize in the Waterski Racing World Championship in the Formula 2 category. At the age of 13, Teelow started participating in water ski events. She learned at skis on Burrendong Dam in 2007. She was able to qualify for in 2009’s Waterski Racing World Championships in Belgium during the national selection rounds at Lake Charm. Teelow was prepared for event by broadening her knowledge on rough waters through ski lessons in Botany Bay as well as Port Jackson. Teelow finished fourth and fifth overall in the two rounds, resulting in a place of fourth overall.
Teelow was described by her friends as a “champion on and off the water” and her former school co-ordinator called her “a beautiful girl with such a joyous smile”. According to her father, she saved the lives of six individuals through the donation of her organs. The 2014 Bridge to Bridge Water Ski Classic was allowed to commence as scheduled by organisers and was converted into a memorial in Teelow’s honour.
