Her birthplace was Golden, British Columbia.
On February 2nd in 2007, Renner was blessed with a baby girl named Aria at the hospital located in Banff, Alberta. The couple along with Grandi reside at Canmore, Alberta.
Norwegian coach Bjornar Hakensmoen presented Sara Renner a ski pole after her pole broke after a rival fell on it during the cross country team sprint in the 2006 Winter Olympics. Norway’s athletes finished fourth, suggesting that this act of sporting courtesy could result in the loss of Norwegian team the medal. Renner offered Hakensmoen the gift of a bottle of wine to show his appreciation while other Canadians were quick to respond with calls and letters to Norwegian Embassy. They also sent 7400 maple syrup cans to Hakensmoen. The incident was immortalized on an television commercial from the 2010 Winter Olympics television commercial.

She said: “I just left everything out there today,” Renner said after carrying her three-year-old daughter, Aria, in her arms through a series of TV interviews. “It was a beautiful race in the pouring rain — quite the way to go out. To hear everyone cheering for me, it was absolutely inspiring.”
