Sara Klisura Biography

Sara Klisura is one of the most popular and richest Volleyball Player who was born on July 15, 1992 in Subotica, North Bačka District, Serbia. Sara Klisura (Serbian Cyrillic: Sara Klisura ; born 15 July 1992) is a Serbian professional volleyball player. She was part of Serbia’s female national team of volleyball from Serbia from 2008 until 2013. She was part of the Serbian team that took silver in World Championship in 2009, the World Championship and 2009 & the 2010 European Championships. The club she is currently with is 1. MCM-Diamant KE.

Klisura began playing abroad in 2012, when she started playing abroad. The year 2012 was when she joined her first Italian team Foppapedretti Bergamo that plays in the Serie A, the highest professional women’s volleyball league in Italy. She was a part of the club during two seasons. The 2012-2013 season was a success. the club was in third within the Italian league.

In 2015, she joined the Russian volleyball club Yenisey Krasnoyarsk that plays in the Super League, the highest professional women’s volleyball league in Russia. The club finished at 7th place in the 2015-2016 season. She left the club after a year and went back to Romania.

In August 2017, Klisura was scouted by her former coach, Moro Branislav, to play in the 2017 PSL Grand Prix Conference in the Philippines. She joined the Foton Tornadoes volleyball club that plays in the Philippine Super Liga, a semi-professional corporate club volleyball league that is recognized by the FIVB and the AVC. The club finished at 3rd place after the championship. Klisura won the Best Scorer in a Match award for dropping 41 points in one of the games. This score is her personal record for points. This also paved way to the creation of her moniker, “Kill-sura”.

She was among the winners for the Volleyball Federation of Serbia in 2010. She was named the top Receiver. She was also awarded the IOC trophy on behalf of her team in 2010 when they were selected by the Olympic Committee of Serbia chose the women’s and male’s volleyball team as their top Serbian National Teams of 2010.

The volleyball career of Klisura began in 2006 at Spartak Subotica, a club that is part of Serbia’s Volleyball League of Serbia. She was a part of Spartak during four consecutive seasons. She was a part of the 2009 season when she was a part of in the Serbia women’s national volleyball under-18 team, where she was an player on the wing. The Serbian national team was awarded the silver medal at both the European as well as the World Championships. Her most notable achievements as a junior athlete also occurred in that same year when she was awarded the award for Best Server at both championships.

Klisura began playing in the professional ranks at just 18. She moved to Vizura Beograd in 2010 , and was part of the club during two consecutive seasons. In her time with Vizura the club was awarded the silver medal at as well and the Super League and the Serbian Cup.

In 2014, she joined the Romanian volleyball club CSM Târgoviște that plays in the country’s top professional volleyball league, Divizia A1. The club finished at 4th place in the 2014-2015 season.
