She posted a win-loss-record of 106-19 while at Michigan and finished her college career as the top player in wins for the Big Ten Conference.
Griffin was a graduate of her time at the University of Michigan in 1998 with an undergraduate degree in communications. The year 2002 was the time she obtained a master’s from the field of education (sports administration) at Ohio State University.
In 2011, Griffin was inducted into the University of Michigan Athletic Hall of Honor. She was the fifth Michigan softball player named to the Hall of Honor, joining Penny Neer, Vicki Morrow, Alicia Seegert, and Jenny Allard.
Griffin was the 15th player in NCAA Division I history to pass the 100-win mark. During her career at Michigan, she set both Michigan and Big Ten Conference records for most wins in a career.
The 8th March of 1996 she struck out the 21 batters that she played to play the perfect contest in a match against an Oklahoma team that is ranked as No. 10 in the nation. In 1998, her senior year she led her team in the Big Ten Conference in wins (17-0), ERA (1.09) and strikeouts (88). The overall record for the year 1998 (including other games outside of the conference) stood at 35-3.

Griffin decided to softball for The University of Michigan in October 1993. She began her studies at Michigan in the autumn of 1994. She was a pitcher/utility player for the Michigan Wolverines softball team from 1995 until 1998. Over the course of four seasons at Michigan she had an overall record of 106-19.
Griffin was selected for the team member of the first NFCA All-American in 1995, 1996and 1998. In 1998 she was the first Michigan athlete to be awarded the Suzy Favor the Big Ten’s Female Athletic Athlete of the The Year award. She was also named one of the Big Ten Player of the Year (softball) in 1995 and 1996. In addition, she was named as the Michigan University’s female Athlete of the Year for both 1996 and 1998.
Griffin began a career as a softball coach. She has held coaching positions at Arizona State (asst. coach 1999), Utah (asst. coach, 2000), and Loyola Marymount University (asst. coach and associate athletic director for compliance, 2008-2013). From 2002 to 2008, she was the Director of Compliance at the University of Southern California. Griffin is a private instructor, working with kids in the Ventura and Los Angeles areas.
