Sani Sakakini (Arabic: sny skkyny born on August 19 1988, in Ramallah, Palestine) is the first professional Palestinian basketball player. The second-highest score in history at FIBA Asia Championship in scoring average, following the 2015 edition , where scored first and rebounding (22.4 PPG, and 12.6 RPG in eight games).

Sakakini played in a couple of games throughout 2013 playing in the PBBA league ( Palestine) for Sarriyet Ramallah and also helped the team take home the title.

Sakakini contributed in rebuilding the Palestine national basketball team with coach Jerry Steele and recruiting players such as former University of Minnesota guard Jamal Abu-Shamala. This led to the team’s first ever qualification to the FIBA Asia Championship in 2015.

For the 2017-2018 season, Sakakini joined the LPB league ( Venezuela) playing for the Trotamundos de Carabobo.

In 2011 Sakakini began his career as a player in the Minor NBL league alongside Guangzhou Free Man before playing in the principal CBA league ( China) for four seasons with Qingdao Eagles, Jiangsu Monkey King and Tianjin Gold Lions. He played in 115 games, making 126 games, scoring 19.3 PPG, and 12.5 RPG.
