Longo played as a Junior player of Inter’s reserve squad during the 2009-10 season, serving as an alternative in the absence of Denis Alibec, Mattia Destro and Simone Dell’Agnello. On the 28th of January, 2010, after having been only sparingly utilized by Inter He left for Piacenza Calcio, along with Giuseppe Angarano and Luca Stocchi. Under Andrea Stramaccioni, Longo scored 5 goals in 2011–12 NextGen series as one the protagonists of the team that won the tournament; his role also sightly changed after the arrival of Marko Livaja as new centre forward, in 4–2–3–1 (and later 4–3–3/4–3–2–1 formation under Daniele Bernazzani). He was also instrumental in the Primavera final stages, netting four goals in three matches (including a brace in the final against Lazio).
The 2010-2011 season was a struggle, despite Inter cutting their reserve team (only comprised comprising U18, U19 and 3 U20 players as well as three U20 players), Longo was unable to be a regular starter having played 11 games, (2 games) and two goals. In January 2011 , he was transferred to Genoa on a temporary contract with an option to purchase Longo as co-owner in a deal in addition to being a replacement for the outgoing reserves forward Gianmarco Zigoni. Longo scored three goals in the 2010-11 reserve league for Genoa and two goal for Inter in the reserve league of 2010-11. He also participated in the play-offs of the league, defeating eventual winners Roma in the semis and forming a team together with Richmond Boakye; his side was also defeated in the quarter-finals by Inter in the quarterfinals of 2011. In Valdobbiadene, Province of Treviso, Veneto, Longo started his professional journey at Treviso FBC 1993. He was part of the Esordienti under-13 team in the 2004-05 season. In January 2009, Internazionale purchased Longo as well as Mame Baba Thiam for cash.
