Sameer has won two more Filmfare Awards in 1993 and 1994. Sameer who is officially referred to as Shitala Pandey, but commonly called Rajan was born in Banaras, Uttar Pradesh. He graduated with the Master of Commerce degree from the Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi and was then offered his new job as a banker in the Central Bank of India. But, just a few days after his arrival, he resigned the position as the “knew the bank was not my world”. In order to pursue a career as a lyricist relocated to Mumbai in the year 1980.
