He is best known for his voice acting performances in his role on the Nickelodeon program Winx Club and the 4Kids TV version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the performer also served in the role of voice-director in two of the animated Disney shows: Wander Over Yonder and Sofia the First.

On September 11, 2001, Riegel and his wife Quyen witnessed the attacks on the World Trade Center. At one point, the couple was caught in the dust cloud formed by the collapse of the South Tower, but eventually escaped to Battery Park, where they witnessed the collapse of the North Tower in silence. Riegel captured video footage that was featured in several documentaries.

In 2018, Riegel received the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing in an Animated Program for his work on Danger & Eggs.
