Fox was fired after the 2017 season.

Pace was not offered any opportunities as a player and was instead hired by the New Orleans Saints as a coaching intern in 2001. Six years later, Pace was appointed director of professional personnel and, in 2013, he was named director of player personnel.

Before committing to Eastern Illinois, Pace was a linebacker at Edward S. Marcus high school.
