He briefly played in the first team, before joining East Fife on May 2015. In 2018, he moved to Cowdenbeath for one season. During that time, he was on loan with Berwick Rangers.

Goodfellow signed a contract with East Fife, a Scottish League Two team on 18 May 2015. After going down, East Fife beat Championship side Dumbarton in a penalty shootout on Saturday, 1 August 2015. After the 18 first-round games, Goodfellow was appointed as the back-up goalkeeper. Liam Kelly, Rangers’ loanee, joined the team. Clyde won the league on 16 April 2016, East Fife drawing 1-1. Goodfellow played in 19 league games during the 2015-16 season. After a draw with Stranraer, Goodfellow announced that he had set a club record of not conceding one goal in 575 minutes. This record was extended to 603 minutes the week following.

On 29 May 2019, Albion Rovers announced that Goodfellow had signed a one-year deal with the club for the 2019–20 season in Scottish League Two.

He was a regular player in the under-20 team that reached the Scottish Youth Cup Final against Celtic on May 1, 2013. Pars lost the final 3-1 to Goodfellow, who played the entire match.

Paul Donnelly, Spartans’ under-13 coach, brought him to Dunfermline Athletic. He spent four years progressing through the club’s youth academy, before signing with the under-19 team in 2010. He was promoted to the first team in 2012 and signed a one year professional contract.
