Lossing spoke out about his own style, saying that “Much 20th-century composition is about interval playing, especially Bartok’s and Schoenbergs.” Although he was able to put his thoughts on paper with the 12-tone, it was always about the intervals. Although I am a jazz pianist, my harmonic approach is based upon this concept: finding new sounds and expressions within the intervals.
