Glenn was taken by the Chicago Sting, North American Soccer League (NASL), in the third round of the 1979 NASL College Draft. Glenn was a great defender for the Sting. Glenn scored the winning goal during the shootout Penalty Shootout (football). This was the final phase of the 1981 NASL championship. It had ended without a goal after 90 mins of regulation and 15 minutes for golden goal extra. The U.S. Soccer Federation and the NASL entered Team America into the NASL in 1983 as a league franchise. The team was made up of U.S. citizens who had played in the NASL and Major Indoor Soccer League, as well as the American Soccer League. Glenn signed with Team America after leaving the Sting. USSF pulled Team America from the league after the 1983 season ended with a record of 10-20, which was the worst in NASL. Glenn returned to Sting, where he remained until he retired. The Sting won the second NASL championship in 1984, which was the last time the league had ever been won. The NASL ended at the end of the season and the Sting joined the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL). Glenn played two years in MISL and remained with Sting. He played eight games in the 1985-1986 season and scored one goal before he was hurt. The Sting released him on May 1, 1986. Glenn joined in October 1986 the Chicago Shoccers, American Indoor Soccer Association.

Glenn was a graduate of Mannheim American High School, Mannheim, Germany. From 1976 to 1979, he attended Indiana University where he was a member of the men’s soccer squad. The team reached the NCAA championships in 1976 and 1978 during Glenn’s four-year tenure. In both of the games, Indiana was defeated by University of San Francisco. USF was eventually disqualified from the 1978 Championship.
