De La Rosa signed in 2007 with the Dodgers and spent two seasons playing for their Dominican Summer League team. In 2009, he was transferred to Arizona League Dodgers. He then split 2010 between Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts and the Class-A Great Lakes Loons. He pitched in 22 games, with 13 starts, and had a 2.37 ERA. He was named the Dodgers Minor League Pitcher of the year and invited to Major League spring training 2011. To start the season, he was sent back to Chattanooga where he was 2-2 and had a 2.92 ERA in eight appearances for the Lookouts. De La Rosa was invited to the Southern League All-Star Game 2011, but was not able to attend because he was promoted by the Dodgers.

After a long recovery period and a few minor league appearances, De La Rosa finally rejoined the Dodgers on August 21, 2012. He pitched in one game for the Dodgers before being optioned back to the minors.
