Anderson directed and wrote the documentary The Luling Ferry Disaster in 2006 for his master’s thesis in communication at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The documentary tells the story about the ferry accident at MV George Prince, which resulted in 77 deaths. On October 20, 2006, the documentary was released. It marked the 30th anniversary. Anderson initiated a movement to create a memorial in St. Charles Parish for survivors and victims of the disaster after the film’s success. On January 28, 2009, the Luling/Destrehan Ferry Disaster Memorial Committee was formed by Larry Cochran (St. Charles Parish Councilman) and other concerned citizens. The bureau worked tirelessly to create a memorial. In a solemn ceremony, it was unveiled at the East Bank Bridge Park in Destrehan on October 17, 2009. The monument was designed by Paul J. Hogan, a St. Charles Parish councilman and architect.

Anderson’s 4th film, The Upstairs Lounge Fire, documents the 1973 UpStairs Lounge arson attack in New Orleans. The documentary was released on June 24, 2013 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the fire.

Anderson was invited to Princeton University as a guest speaker to screen and discuss The UpStairs Lounge Fire in 2014. He was also an invited guest speaker at Tulane University, Loyola University New Orleans, and the FBI New Orleans Division. His documentaries have been accepted into The Historic New Orleans Collection, one of Louisiana’s prestigious archives.

Anderson’s most recent project, Mother’s Day Bus Crash 610, examines the worst vehicle accident in Louisiana history. It occurred on May 9, 1999, on Interstate 610 in New Orleans. 22 perished.
