Romeo Zondervan is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on March 4, 1959 in Paramaribo, Paramaribo District, Suriname. Romeo Eugene Zondervan, a former professional Dutch footballer, was born 4 March 1959. He played as a middlefielder. Born in Paramaribo, Suriname in 1959, he played his first football with FC Den Haag, Twente Enschede, before joining West Bromwich Albion where he played 84 games. In 1984, he signed for Ipswich Town for PS70,000. He went on to make 274 appearances at the club. He then moved to NAC Breda, a Dutch club in 1992. He played there until 1995 and finished his playing career.
Zondervan, who had retired as a player after retiring, went on to scout Europe for Ipswich with George Burley. The Royal Dutch Football Association (Royal Dutch Football Association) in 2004 questioned Zondervan’s role as agent for Collins John. Collins John was sold from FC Twente, Fulham. Zondervan wasn’t properly registered with FIFA. However, it was later confirmed that Zondervan had no involvement in the transfer.
Zondervan was “discarded” by West Bromwich Albion’s new manager Johnny Giles and signed for Ipswich at PS70,000. He made his debut against Watford on March 1984. Ipswich was relegated in 1986 to the Second Division and Zondervan was elected Ipswich Town F.C. In 1987, he was named Player of the Year. He was the club’s captain during the 1989-90 and 1988-89 seasons. In 1992, Zondervan’s last season with Ipswich saw them be promoted to the newly created Premier League. Zondervan said in an interview with The Daily Telegraph that his “best football days” at Ipswich were his best.
