Roland Bert Woolsey, born August 11, 1953, is an ex-professional American football cornerback in NFL. He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys and also played for the Seattle Seahawks (and the Cleveland Browns), and the St. Louis Cardinals (and the St. Louis Cardinals). He was a rural Idahoan who played college football at Boise State University.
He was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks from the Cowboys roster during the 1976 NFL Expansion Draft. After sustaining a knee injury in pre-season, he was able to participate in 14 games (11 starts), recording 59 tackles (tied for team lead) and 4 interceptions. After never fully healing from his previous knee injury, his play was affected and he was suspended on August 29, 1977.
In 1988, he was inducted into the BSU Hall of Fame. Sports Illustrated named him one of the greatest Idaho athletes of the 20th century.
The Cleveland Browns signed him on September 14, 1977. He was one the NFL’s most prolific punt returners, with 32 returns for 290 yards. However, he was released by the Cleveland Browns on August 22, 1978.

Boise State offered him a track scholarship. However, he eventually transferred to the football team. He was a safety starter and earned All-Big Sky honors in 1974 after recording 72 tackles and 6 interceptions. He set school records in track, including the 220-yard dash, 440-yard dash, and spring and mile relay teams.
The Dallas Cowboys selected Woolsey in the sixth round (148th overall), of the 1975 NFL Draft. Also known as the Dirty Dozen, Woolsey was drafted by the Cowboys. He was primarily used on special teams as a rookie and was the first Boise State grad to play in a Super Bowl.
