Rocky Lee Hinds, born February 13, 1986, is an indoor football quarterback for the Wichita Force Champions Indoor Football (CIF). After transferring from the University of Southern California, Rocky was the UNLV Rebels’ starting quarterback.
Hinds was a member of UNLV’s 2005 transfer class, which also included Tony Cade (Oklahoma), Eric Wright (USC) and Mil’Von Jim (UCLA). Rocky was redshirted when he transferred from UNLV in 2005. Hinds could practice with the team, but was not allowed to be active due to NCAA transfer guidelines. He earned his first college athletic award in 2006 by participating in all 12 games (started eleven). Hinds threw 322 yards against Idaho State (24 for 42) and had a TD. Hinds also had one rushing TD. Ryan Wolfe was the first TD passer. It was a 71 yard pass. He finished the season with 2,148 yards, which ranks 8th in school-records. - In 2007, Rocky underwent right knee surgery to fix a partially torn anterior cruciate ligament. He was still named second team All-MWC preseason by Athlon, and third by Phil Steele’s. He was also ranked 27th in college football as the best quarterback. New listed Hinds among the Mountain West’s strongest arms. Rocky was injured and did not play in his senior year.
In 2013, Hinds signed with the Wichita Wild of the Champions Professional Indoor Football League (CPIFL). During his first year with the Wild, Hinds finished the season with a quarterback rating of 102.18, completing 183 of 296 pass attempts, scoring 49 passing touchdowns and 8 rushing touchdowns for 2117 total yards. His play earned him several awards including Championship Game MVP, CPIFL Offensive Player of the Week (Week 3) and an honorable mention as CPIFL MVP of the year. In 2014, Hinds lead the Wild to the best record in the CPIFL, while also winning the league’s MVP award.
In 2015, Hinds became a QB coach and pass game coordinator for Bethel College.
Hinds, a highly-recruited athlete, was a member the 2004 graduating class at St. Bernard High School in Los Angeles. He was one of the Top Ten HS Quarterbacks. Rocky sustained a torn anteriorcruciate ligament (ACL), in his right knee, which ended his season. He was named Super Prep All-American and PrepStar All-American despite the injury.

Scout.com ranked Hinds #18 for his position. He was a junior in 2002 and was awarded the All-del Rey League Offensive Champion for his outstanding performance. Hinds was unhappy at USC after he was 3rd on the depth charts behind John David Booty and Matt Leinart, as well as the added pressure from Mark Sanchez, an incoming freshman. Hinds looked at colleges in other states to consider transferring to. Texas was his most popular choice. Hinds transferred to UNLV after being accused of tampering with the transfer. On January 15, 2010 Rocky Hinds was signed by the Omaha Beef of the Indoor Football League. Later on, the Bloomington Extreme acquired the rights to Hinds. On April 12, Rocky made his indoor football debut by starting for the Extreme against the Chicago Slaughter. In that game, Hinds completed 16 of 30 passes with 4 touchdowns and 1 interception, but the Express lost 50-43. He played for the Bloomington Edge for two years and lead the team to two playoff appearances. On October 21, 2011, the Allen Wranglers signed Hinds.
