In August 2016, Bambu was summoned to Brazil’s under-20s for a friendly match against England. He was part of Rogerio Maicale’s 23 man squad for the 2017 South American Youth Football Championship. In his place, Gustavo Cascardo was injured. He played twice during that tournament.
Bambu was born in Sao Vicente in Sao Paulo. He joined Santos’ youth organization in 2007 when he was ten years old. He extended his contract to November 2018 on August 4, 2016.
In January 2018, Bambu was promoted to the main squad by new manager Jair Ventura. He made his professional debut on 28 January, starting in a 1–1 Campeonato Paulista home draw against Ituano.
