Since November 2019, Robin hosts Pure Radio Scotland’s breakfast show. The station was launched at 8am on Wednesday, 27 November 2019. Robin Galloway started his career as a Northsound Radio presenter in Aberdeen in March 1983. He joined Grampian Television (now STV North), as a newsreader and continuity announcer while he was working at the station. Robin presented several regional programs for the station, including the feedback series Put It In Writing (1991-1994) and Grampian’s contributions to the ITV Telethons and Clyde 1 in 1993. Robin was shortlisted for the position of new male presenter on Channel 4’s The Big Breakfast in Summer 1996. However, he did not get the job.
Robin moved to Grampian in 1995 for work on the morning show for Scot FM. This saw Robin’s ratings increase by almost 400% and helped boost SCOT FM. After a series clashes with Jeff Graham, the Station’s Programme director, Robin quit in March 1997. Robin had originally intended to work the remainder of his notice. But Scot FM bosses replaced him within days. Robin was concupiscence and signed the agreement that prohibited him from taking on any new job in Scotland. Scot FM demanded a gag order. Robin later moved to Manchester to present Drivertime on Key 103, with stints at 100.4 Jazz FM. He also presented for Granada Sky Broadcasting, Discovery, and Granada Sky Broadcasting.
In June 2001, the Guardian Media Group acquired Scot FM from previous owners, the Wireless Group, this resulted in a major overhaul of the station including an on-air rebrand. Real Radio Scotland began broadcasting at 8am on Tuesday 8 January 2002 with Robin having the honour of opening the station, and introducing the first song to be played, A Star is Born. Not all of his Non Wind up Characters carried over to Real Radio. Marie-Clair left in January 2004 and was replaced by Cat Harvey, who become Robin’s new Co-host.
