In 1993 he dropped out without finishing his degree in journalism from San Jose State University’s School of Journalism and Mass Communications.
He was born in Piscataway in New Jersey, but grew up in Silicon Valley. He married Maryam Ghaemmaghami Scoreble, and they had three children together.
