They also stated that American degrees would require 4 years and not 3. David Lammy stated that he was actually a Harvard University student.

Rowland is a climate change sceptic. In a speech on 23 October 2019 he said “decarbonisation is deindustrialisation. It amounts to unilateral disarmament.” He argued that decarbonisation policies replace tax revenues generated from fossil fuels with subsidies to the detriment of the funding public services.

Rowland was elected third on the Brexit Party list for the South East of England in the European Parliament elections in May 2019. He sat on the ECON (Economic and Monetary Affairs) committee in the European Parliament.

Rowland sent a tweet on July 10, 2019: “We stand behind all our fishermen and the restoration sovereignty over our waters.” There are 200 miles of exclusion zones where any foreign fishing vessel will be treated the same as the Belgrano. Well done June. We stand with you 100% and will make sure you go to hell for the committee. On social media, his threat to sink civilian fishing boats was widely shared and criticized.
