Robert Del Naja (/dE l’n aI@ /; born 21 January 1965) is a British musician, singer, songwriter, and artist. He was a graffiti artist, a member of The Wild Bunch in Bristol, and then a founding member and guitarist of Massive Attack. He was awarded the British Academy’s Ivor Nobill Award for Outstanding Contribution in British Music in 2009.

Neil Davidge and Del Naja teamed up to create Mezzanine in 1998, Massive Attack’s most successful commercial album. It sold nearly 4 million copies.

Since 2003, Del Naja has co-designed all of Massive Attack’s lighting shows with UVA; the shows have been overtly political, dealing with current local and international issues.

In 2005, Del Naja organised and performed at a charity concert in Bristol for Tsunami Relief with Adrian Utley and Geoff Barrow of Portishead. The two-night event featured Massive Attack, Portishead, Robert Plant, The Coral and Damon Albarn. Del Naja and Marshall performed three shows in 2005 in support of Hoping, an organisation that helps raise money, support projects for Palestinian youth in refugee camps in the Gaza strip and the west bank, Lebanon and Syria.

Del Naja began rapping in Bristol with the Wild Bunch around the mid-1980s. As a music producer, he is also one of the founders of Massive Attack in Bristol. He was the only singer to appear on all of their albums and EPs. Their 1991 album, “Blue Lines”, was their first release and received critical acclaim.
