Wolleaston was a reserve player for Bradford City in the 2002-03 season. He signed a one year contract with the First Division-side in June 2003. In a League Cup tie against Darlington, Wolleaston made his Bradford debut. City lost 5-3 on penalties. He lost his first league match to Gillingham just over a week later. Bradford was struggling for form, and Wolleaston didn’t score until April when the team needed him to give them hope in a critical game against Derby County. City was effectively eliminated from the playoffs when Derby won the game 3-2. After City’s relegation, Wolleaston was also released along with Michael Branch, Mark Paston and Mark Paston from the club at season’s end. He had played 15 games with Bradford, and all except one were in the league. His goal against Derby was the only time that he scored.
Manager Rob Newman rewarded Wolleaston’s good form by offering him a new contract to stay with Cambridge for the 2006–07 season. Wolleaston scored only one goal during his second season, in 35 league games for Cambridge, as they finished in 18th place, just four points above the relegation zone.
Wolleaston was released by Oxford in October 2005 and five months later joined Conference-side Cambridge United on a free transfer, initially on non-contract terms. He made his debut against Altrincham on 11 February 2006, in a 2–1 defeat, and a week later scored only the second goal of his first-team career as Cambridge reversed the scoreline against Southport. The following month he received the first red card of his career against Crawley Town. He helped Cambridge to a mid-table position during 13 games, and scored twice more, both in a 2–1 victory against Scarborough.
Wolleaston was back in Chelsea, but this time he left on a loan agreement ahead of the 2001/02 season. He joined Northampton Town’s Second Division with Sam Parkin, a fellow Chelsea youth. Wolleaston made his Northampton debut on August 18, 2001, when they lost 2-0 against Stoke City. He went on to make eight appearances for the club in three months, seven in league play, and again, without scoring a goal. After his return to Chelsea, Wolleaston did not make another appearance on the first team in the next two seasons.
