American politician Kenneth Robert Krupicka, Jr. was born February 18, 1971. He is a Democrat and served as a member of the Alexandria, Virginia, city council between 2003-2012, the Virginia State Board of Education (2009-2012) and the Virginia House of Delegates (2012 to 2016).
Rob started his civic life in Del Ray Citizens Association as the president. He was elected to City Council in 2003 at the request of the community. Rob served nine years as a Council member. He worked to increase mass transit in the city, including the creation of the Potomac Yard Metro.
In 2009, after helping to create Virginia’s school readiness standards, Governor Tim Kaine appointed Rob to the State Board of Education where he worked to expand educational opportunity in Virginia’s schools and ensure that children in the Commonwealth show up to Kindergarten ready to learn and graduate High School with the skills necessary to compete in the 21st Century economy. On the Board, Rob was a strong advocate for increasing math and science learning opportunities in Virginia as well as for getting away from the stranglehold of the No Child Left Behind law.
