His father was Dennis Lee Oliver, December 1922 – August 1981. His mother was Sadie Lenore Head Oliver. His parents owned Independent Fish Company on Seminole Place, on the Homosassa river. His parents are buried at Stagestand Cemetery in Homosassa.
Oliver was part in a class action lawsuit against WWE filed in July 2016. The suit alleged that WWE concealed the risk of injury and that some wrestlers sustained traumatic brain injuries. Konstantine Kyros, an attorney who has been involved with a number other lawsuits against WWE, represented the plaintiffs. The lawsuit was dismissed by Vanessa Lynne Bryant, US District Judge.
Oliver started wrestling in the PNW and was primarily a jobber for the World Wrestling Federation. Oliver, who went by the name Super Ninja, challenged The Ultimate Warrior to the WWF Intercontinental Championship during his run. Oliver faced many wrestlers during his title reigns including Rocky Johnson, Brett Sawyer and Billy Jack Haynes. Oliver returned to the PNW in 1990 after he left the WWF. On October 12, 1991, he lost the NWA Pacific Northwest Heavyweight Championship match to Demolition Crusher.

Larry Richard Oliver (October 6, 1952 – March 5, 2020) was an American professional wrestler. He was also known as Rip Oliver or “Crippler”, and had great success in Pacific Northwest Wrestling.
He set a record in Pacific Northwest Wrestling (PNW) for holding the NWA Pacific Northwest Heavyweight Championship longer than any other wrestler. Oliver held the NWA Pacific Northwest Tag Team Championship as well as the NWA Canadian Tag Team Championship 18 times. Chris Adams gave Gino Hernandez, his tag team partner, the opportunity to defend the WCCW Television Championship from Billy Jack Haynes in 1985. He lost that title but Oliver defeated him to win the title shortly thereafter.
In early 2020, it was revealed that Oliver had entered into hospice care due to end-stage heart failure. He died on March 5, 2020, surrounded by his family.
