Rini Coolen is one of the most popular and richest Dutch football manager who was born on February 10, 1967 in Arnhem, Gelderland, Netherlands. Rini Coolen, a Dutch former football defender and coach, was born 10 February 1967. He was the last interim head coach for Rosenborg’s Norwegian Eliteserien team.

He was the Aruba national football coach for six weeks in 2015.

On 19 July 2018 he was appointed interim manager of Rosenborg.

Coolen released Travis Dodd and Paul Reid as well as Adam Hughes, Lucas Pantelis, and Adam Hughes. Coolen imported Ricardo Da Silva, Evgeniy Lvchenko and Andwele Slory but they failed to make an impression. Coolen was replaced by John Kosmina, former Adelaide United coach. This announcement came after a disappointing start to the 2011/2012 season. Coolen was to remain at the club as the youth coach. In 1995, he retired and became a manager for Heracles Almelo and FC Twente. By mutual agreement, he left FC Twente on the 1st of February 2006. He signed for RBC Roosendaal in November 2008 to succeed Rob Meppelink, who was released. He was named manager of Adelaide United, an A-League club.

The club went from a disastrous last-place finish in 2009-10 to third in 2010-11 thanks to his first season with Adelaide United. There were many off- field dramas during his time at the club, including that of Travis Dodd, former Reds captain who left for Perth Glory. Coolen presented a plan to the club, and began rebuilding the team shortly after being signed to a 4-year contract.

In August 2016, Coolen left his post as Academy boss at PEC Zwolle to join Fred Rutten as his assistant at Al Shabab in Dubai.
