Rinaldo “Dindo” Capello, born 17 June 1964, is an Italian professional racing driver. He has been a winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans three times, with Bentley in 2003, Audi in 2004 and 2008. Capello is a two time American Le Mans Series champion and a five-time 12 Hours of Sebring winning driver. He also holds the record for Petit Le Mans wins with five wins. Capello raced in the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup and DTM, as well as the FIA World Endurance Championship and the Italian GT Championship.

Capello won 6 races and was vice-champion in the 2000 American Le Mans Series. Capello was the Audi Sport North America champion in 2006 and 2007. He finished alongside Allan McNish from Britain in the Audi Sport North America R10.

Due to a shift in focus for Team Joest, Capello drove for Team Bentley in

2003. Alongside long-time teammate Kristensen and Englishman Guy Smith, they won the 24 Hours of Le Mans, giving Bentley a first victory at the French circuit in 73 years.

Capello was one of six Audi drivers in the first race of Team Joest, 1999 12 Hours of Sebring. They finished 3rd in Audi R8R, alongside compatriot Michele Alboreto, and Stefan Johansson. Capello finished 2nd overall in 2000 after returning to the track. Only the sister Audi R8 was better. Capello would win the race in 2001 and 2002. Capello would win the race seven more times with both Bentley and Audi. He won three wins and took four overall podiums in 2006, 2009, and 2012. Capello is currently second in overall Sebring wins with five of his outright victories. He is the only Audi driver who has won the race in each of the four Audi sports prototypes, along with Tom Kristensen. R8, R10 and R15.

Capello was born in Asti. He started his racing career driving go-karts in

1976. However, he didn’t move to single-seaters until 1983 when he began in Formula Fiat Abarth. Capello won the 1990 Italian Superturismo Championship with a Volkswagen Golf. This was his first major championship win. In 1996, he won the championship again, this time in an Audi A4.
