Rikke Skov is one of the most popular and richest Handball Player who was born on September 7, 1980 in Viborg, Central Denmark Region, Denmark. Rikke Erhardsen Sko (born 7 September 1980), is an Olympic and former Danish handball player. At the 2004 Summer Olympics, she was awarded a gold medal by the Danish national team. Skov, a loyal Viborg HK player, joined the club as a teenager in 1994. It remained her only team until she retired in

2016. She also retired from active sport when she gave birth to her first child in February 2017.

She was one of five handballers to receive The EHF Handball Award in 2011. The prize was presented to the European Handball Federation’s 20th Anniversary for players who had the greatest club and international success.

Skove met Lotte Kiaerskou, a fellow handballer, as he was playing for Viborg HK. They “never thought of keeping their relationship secret.” They were registered partners as permitted by Danish law. They split in 2011. Kiaerskou, now a retired lawyer, gave birth to the two daughters of the ex-couple.

Skov began her handball career at age 12 in 1992. Skov played handball for Overlund GF from the age of 12 until she joined Viborg HK as a player in 1994. Skov won many titles with Viborg, including European and domestic. She has won the Champions League in 2006 and 2009, the EHF Cup 1999 and 2004, as well as four Danish Cups in 2004 and seven Danish Championships.

Rikke Skov was the first woman to join the national team, on 28 July 2000. She was also appointed team captain in 2007. Skov was awarded an Olympic gold medal in Athens 2004 as well as a silver medal at 2004 European Championship. Skov retired from international handball for the first time in April 2009. She played 107 matches and scored 296 goal goals. Skov changed her mind later and was a participant in the 2010 European Women’s Handball Championship. She came fourth. She continued playing for the national team in 2011 and was part of the GF World Cup ’11 with other players. However, she pulled out of the squad selection process for the 2011 World Championship to concentrate on her club duties. She announced her retirement from the national team on Friday, 29 April.
