Offenberger began his career as a comics retailer at Paper Hero Comics, Chino (California). In March 1992, he began writing stories for the Comics Buyer’s Guide. These stories covered stories about comics shops to promote them. After his work with the Comics Buyer’s Guide he started working for the British Borderline Comics Magazine, until it was closed down. Then he moved to the Internet and worked as an interviewer, senior feature editor at Silver Bullet Comic Books (now Comics Bulletin), conducting interviews for comics professionals. He began to produce trend-oriented interviews in 2004 for Newsarama, and by 2005, he was writing for Comic Book Resources and Newsarama.
