He was a Walsall Academy product and played for England at the U19 and U20 levels.

A foot injury suffered in February saw Henry miss two months of the season and he finished an injury-affected campaign with 16 appearances and one goal. He began the 2019–20 season fully fit and signed a new four-year contract in August 2019.

Henry was able to break into the starting lineup on a full-time base during the 2015-16 season. Henry had a great season. He made 44 appearances and scored three goals. He also signed a new three year contract. England youth international recognition was also awarded to him. Walsall was a consistent challenger for promotion throughout the season. They finished third to qualify for the 2016 League One playoffs. However, Henry’s season ended in a 6-1 aggregate defeat against Barnsley, the eventual-promoted club. His performances throughout the season were recognized by him winning the September 2015 Football League Young Player of the Month award. He also received a nomination to the Football League Young player of the year award.

Henry joined Walsall when he was 11 years old. He progressed through the youth ranks and made his first senior appearance in non-competitive competition shortly after his 16th Birthday. This was in a friendly against Leeds United in July 2013. After impressing with the youth team, Henry signed his first professional contract one year later. Henry was called up to the first team squad in September 2014 and October 2014. He then made his competitive debut in a semi-final shootout win against Tranmere Rovers in the Football League Trophy northern region. Four days later, he made his league debut. The Oldham appearance proved to be Henry’s last for Walsall and he departed the Bescot Stadium on 31 August. He made 57 appearances and scored three goals for the club.
