The Cloud Sketcher, and Devil’s Wind were his next novels. Another novel, Murder Book, was born out of Rayner’s time riding with the Los Angeles Police Department. Rayner published A Bright And Guilty in 2009, a historical narrative that is non-fiction and takes place in Los Angeles during the 1920s and 1930s. It includes true stories about tabloid crimes.
