Renae Lisa Camino, a woman’s basketball player from Australia who was born 19 November 1986, is known as Renae. Camino wed her long-time partner Tom Garlepp in 2014.

Camino was nominated to the 2006 WNBA Draft and was picked in round 2 (pick 24- overall) by Houston Comets. However, Camino suffered a knee injury. Camino was drafted in round 2 (pick 7) of the 2009 dispersal draft by the Sacramento Monarchs. However, Camino returned to Australia and did not play a WNBA match.

Camino represented Australia at three FIBA official events: the 2005 World Championship for Junior Women, the 2007 FIBA Under 21 World Championship for Women where she won a Silver and the 2007 FIBA Oceania Championship for Women where she was awarded a Gold medal. Camino was the top scorer at the 2005 World Championship with 173 points, an average of 21.6 per game. Camino was awarded the WNBL Rookie Of The Year Award in 2004/05 for being the best first-year player. Camino won the Australian Institute of Sport Junior Athlete of Year in 2006. Dean Kinsman, AIS Women’s Basketball coach, said that Renae is a leader with a great work ethic and is committed to becoming the best athlete and person she can be.

In the 2007/08 (2008) Grand Final, Camino won the MVP award after setting a league record for an individual score with 32 points. After her success in the 2008 Grand Final, Camino’s career was stalled by further knee injuries. To resurrect her career, Camino was one of the first Australian athletes to have the controversial LARS surgery in 2009.
