Reinhard Seehafer, along with Wolf-Dieter Ludwig, the director of Gorlitz Opera House, was instrumental in the creation of EUROPERA, a cross-cultural project where he was both musical director and principal conductor from 1991 to 1998. He also founded the Europa Philharmonie in 1991. Reinhard Seehafer began piano lessons at the age of five years old. He also composed small piano pieces, chamber music, and songs. He was a prizewinner in the Beethoven Piano Competition and Improvisation Competition Weimar as a young musician. Rolf Reuter, the music director, recognized the talents of the young composer and pianist and instructed him in his conducting class at Academy of Music and Drama “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy”.
