Reiner Knizia is one of the most popular and richest Game Designer who was born on November 16, 1957 in Bavaria, Germany. Reiner Knizia began developing games for Postspillion, a play-by-mail gaming magazine that was founded in 1985. The zine is still in existence, and Bretton Woods, another Reiner Knizia-designed game, is still being played.

Many Knizia designs were redesigned for electronic gaming and console markets. Keltis and Ingenious (aka Einfach Genial), both appeared on CD-ROM. Lost Cities was also adapted for Xbox 360 via Xbox Live Arcade. Ingenious (aka Einfach Genial) was published on CD-ROM in 2008. Dr. Reiner Knizia’s Brainbenders, an original game for Nintendo DS, was followed by Keltis for NDS in 2009. Lost Cities, Battle Line and Kingdoms are all mobile versions of Knizia’s titles. In 2009, Keltis for the NDS followed. Knizia also created a variety of iPhone-specific game apps, such as Robot Master, Dice Monsters, Labyrinth, and Pipes.

Knizia has been creating a variety of electronic boardgames over the years, including a few with Ravensburger (German publisher). In 2003, the King Arthur adventure game was first released.
