Reina Washio was conceived in Karatsu, Saga Prefecture Japan, on January 20, 1994. She had always dreamed of being a singer since kindergarten. She was shy as a child and didn’t have the confidence to sing in public. Her mother’s attendance at the Exile concert at Fukuoka Dome was a turning point in her life. Washio was so impressed with their performance, that she began attending EXPG in her first year at high school. She worked part-time in Karatsu to help pay for EXPG Fukuoka’s fees. Washio quit school in her first year of highschool to pursue her dream of becoming a singer. Exile was not the only musical influence on Washio’s childhood. JUJU, a Japanese singer, was also a big part of her childhood.

Washio is also a passionate gamer. She enjoys playing cooperative video games like Fortnite and Call of Duty with Sandaime J Soul Brothers’ Elly, The Rampage From Exile Tribe’s Takahide Suzuki and Ballistik Boyz of Exile Tribe’s Ryusei Kainuma. She traveled with Elly to California in June 2019 to play as a guest at the Fortnite Summer Block Party. This tournament is a Pro-Am gaming event. She teamed up with BELL, a Japanese pro-gaming group called CRAZY Raton.

On January 31, 2020, it was announced that she would be singing the theme song of the movie Shousetsu no Kamisama / The God of Novels, titled “Call Me Sick”, and an insert song of the soundtrack titled “Konna Sekai ni Shita no wa Dare da”. It was also revealed that she would be using the stage name Rei (伶) for her solo activities.

After two years of EXPG Fukuoka, Washio took part in the EXILE Presents Vocal Battle Audit 3 For Girls section in 2011. On July 26, Washio was announced as a winner of the VOCAL BATTLE AUDITION 3. She was also added to Flower as a singer. She was also named as an E-girls new member, with a position that overlaps Flower and the group. Washio’s debut with Flower was made on October 12, 2011 with “Still”.

On September 20, 2019, with the announcement of Flower’s disbandment set for the end of that month, Washio revealed that she would approach her new goal of solo activities while being member of E-girls.
