Crowther, who was injured in the hip by Mark Paston and later found out to have a fractured leg, made his second A-League match for Wellington Phoenix on 1 November 2009. Crowther continued his Phoenix career until Liam Reddy, a Brisbane Roar injury cover for Paston, arrived.
Crowther made his senior debut on 30 August 2009 when he started for the Phoenix against Sydney FC at The Sydney Football Stadium.
