Raymond Atteveld, a Dutch former footballer who was born in Amsterdam on 8 September 1966, is currently the Head Coach at Beitar Tel Aviv Bat Yam. He played as a fullback, striker or midfielder. He is currently the Israeli club Beitar Tel Aviv Bat Yam’s Head Coach and an Elite development specialist at Maccabi Tel Aviv FC.

From 2006 to 2007, Atteveld was an assistant manager at Roda. In 2007, he was promoted as manager/technical directors after the departure Huub Stevens. Atteveld qualified for the European football play-offs, but was unable to make it into Europe due to two draws against FC Utrecht. He was fired on October 7, 2008, after a struggle within the board following the appointment of a new technical chief. He was replaced by Andre Wetzel on 17 April 2009. Atteveld was able to keep ADO Den Haag within the Dutch Premier League, scoring 12 goals in the final 4 games. To complete the season, Atteveld took over from Wetzel as Technical director. Atteveld decided to leave the club in 2010 on mutual terms. He moved to Cyprus in February 2011 to be the interim coach of AEL Limassol, a Cypriot team. Under Atteveld, AEL Limassol reached play-offs. Because he was not paid salary by the 1st team regulars, he primarily played with children. Atteveld was able to work with AEL youth and became the Academy Director for the next two seasons. Atteveld was an Academy Director and introduced a winning playing style to the club. This approach was responsible for a 300% rise in National Team players. His philosophy and structure have been used in the club until today.

In Israel, at the biggest club of Israel – Maccabi Tel Aviv FC, Atteveld arrived in Sept. 2016 to take charge of the football development of the older Academy coaches & players for the U16, U17 and U19 teams. As a Performance Director, Atteveld introduced, among other things, the concept of Elite training for contract players within the academy while setting out an individual program for every player. Atteveld was tasked with leading a team in Div. 2 with prospects loaned from Maccabi Tel Aviv FC [1]. The club, named Beitar Tel Aviv Bat Yam is operating in the 2nd division and presently the youngest team in this league (average age 20yrs). Now in 7th position, before the corona virus brought a stop to the league. Teams within the positions 1-8 will qualify for the promotion play-offs at the end of the season. With 2 games to go before the regular season will end, Atteveld and Beitar Tel Aviv Bat Yam are in a perfect position to reach the promotion play-offs. During the winter break some players did moved to the IPL, with more on the cards for the next season. [2]

From Roda JC in high flying Roda JC, Atteveld joined Vitesse as a holding midfielder. He then moved to FC Groningen a full year later. In summer 1999, Atteveld left FC Groningen for ADO Den Haag.

In 2014-2015 4 teams took the championship, only to be improved by 5 championship winning teams in 2015-2016. A record set for Kazakhstan by any club, and up until today FC Kairat Almaty still holds this record. At the beginning of the season 2016-2017 Atteveld was offered the role of Head Coach of FC Kairat Almaty B team, operating in Div. 2. Atteveld kindly declined for this position and went on to introduce his own Academy, the Dutch Total Football Academy in Almaty. A call from Maccabi Tel Aviv FC in Israel to strengthen their setup ended this private academy adventure early on.
