Raymond George Wallace, born 2 October 1969 in Lewisham, is an English former footballer. He played in the Football League, Premier League for Southampton and Leeds United, Swansea City and Reading, Stoke City, Stoke City, Hull City, the Scottish Football League For Airdrieonians and the League of Ireland Drogheda United. He was a member of the England under-21 football team.
Wallace was a free transfer to Stoke City in August 1994. After a slow start to his Stoke career, he was loaned to Second Division Hull City in December 1994 where he made seven appearances. In January 1995, he returned to the Victoria Ground and finished the 1994-1995 season with 28 appearances. Lou Macari used Wallace as a substitute in 1995-96, playing him in the centre midfield alongside Nigel Gleghorn. This worked as Stoke advanced to the play- offs, losing 1-0 to Leicester City. Wallace was awarded the player of the Year award along with Mark Prudhoe. In 1996-97, he missed only one match as Stoke finished 12th in the mid-table. In 1997-98, Stoke played at the Britannia Stadium. However, results were poor and Stoke was relegated to the third tier. In 1998-1999, Brian Little used Wallace mainly as a sub and he was eventually released by the club.
In May 1991 Leeds United signed Wallace and Rod, their twin brothers, in the same transaction. Wallace was valued at PS100,000. Rod and Lee Chapman formed a winning strike partnership, but Ray only made seven appearances for Leeds United. Ray was also loaned to Swansea City, Reading, and other clubs.

In 1986, Wallace and his twin brother Rod signed as apprentices for Southampton Football Club. Danny, his elder brother, was already a well-known member of the Southampton first squad. Wallace, even though he was not a very strong player, was considered a promising talent in the beginning of his career. He played right fullback and right defensive midfield.
He made his Southampton debut on 22 October 1988. He replaced Gerry Forrest at The Dell in Sheffield Wednesday with his two brothers. This was the first time in 67 years that three brothers had been in the same football league First Division team. He was almost always there until September 1989 when Jason Dodd suspended him and he then lost his place. After that, he only played once for the Saints. He was a Southampton player and won four caps for England’s under-21 team.
