Ray Train is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on February 10, 1951 in Bedworth, England, United Kingdom. Raymond Train, born 10 February 1951, is an ex-English football player, coach and scout. Although he was primarily a defensive midfielder, he also played as a striker and in other attacking positions. He made over 500 appearances in Football League and was promoted to the First Division along with Sunderland, Bolton Wanderers, Watford, Carlisle United and Sunderland. Train retired as a player and began coaching. He briefly managed Walsall in 1988-89 as a caretaker.

Train played briefly at Oxford, A.F.C. after leaving Watford. Before returning to Walsall, Train spent brief playing spells at Oxford, A.F.C., Northampton Town, and Tranmere Scouts. His final appearance was in January 1987, just before his 36th birthday.

After a brief spell as community officer at Port Vale in 1990, Train joined Middlesbrough as a coach. During the 1991–92 season, Middlesbrough finished second in the Second Division, securing promotion to the Premier League for its inaugural season. He later became the club’s chief scout, and remained at the club for a total of 13 years.

Train joined Watford’s Third Division side Watford for a fee in the amount of PS50,000 in November 1978. On his debut, Train scored a 1-1 draw at Vicarage Road against Mansfield Town on 2 December. Watford promoted him to the Second Division with 22 more matches. He remained with Watford until 1981-1982, when Watford was promoted to the First Division. This season saw Watford become the fourth English club to be promoted to the top league of English football. Train was transferred to Oxford United at the end of the season for a fee in the amount of PS10,000.

Train was born in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. He began his career at Bedworth United as an amateur. Coventry City rejected Train as a triallist due to his low height. He joined Walsall in 1967 as an apprentice and became a professional the year after. He was at the club until 1971 when he joined Carlisle United’s Second Division side.

Train made 20 appearances during his debut season at Carlisle. Train played 48 games as the team finished just above relegation in 1972-73 and 32 when they were promoted the next season. He was a constant presence during their First Division campaign. He scored twice and remained at Carlisle until 1975-76. In March 1976, he joined Sunderland for PS90,000. At the end of the season, Sunderland were promoted to champions. Train left Sunderland in March 1977 for Bolton Wanderers. This time, Train was part of a title-winning campaign, winning the 1977-78 Second Division title.

Train started his coaching career when he returned to Walsall, initially combining his playing duties with a role as youth team coach. He became caretaker manager in December 1988, following the departure of Tommy Coakley, but was unable to improve the team’s results, and reverted to his previous role in January 1989.
