McCloud was a junior in 2017. He played in all 14 Clemson games and had 49 receptions for 503 yard and one touchdown. McCloud also returned 25 punts, gaining 303 yards and one touchdown. He declared for the 2018 NFL Draft after the season.
On October 17, 2019, McCloud was signed to the Buffalo Bills practice squad. McCloud was a Sickles High School student from Tampa, Florida. He was a running back on the Gryphons football squad. He rushed for 1,933 yards with 17 touchdowns as a senior. He rushed for 5,765 yards and scored 58 touchdowns during his high school career. In July 2014, he committed to playing football for the Clemson-Tigers, choosing them over Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and Florida.
McCloud was a freshman in 2015. He played in 12 games and caught 29 passes for 251 yards. McCloud was injured in the knee and missed three games.
