Ray Bowles is one of the most popular and richest Killer who was born on January 25, 1962 in Clifton Forge, Virginia, United States. Gary Ray Bowles, born January 25, 1962 and died August 22, 2019, was an American serial killer. He was executed for six murders committed in 1994. Because most of his victims lived near Interstate 95, he is often called the I-95 Killer.

Bowles was on the FBI’s most wanted list for the nation’s 10 Most Wanted Fugitives. He was responsible for four of his victims. Bowles was convicted of six murders and was arrested in Jacksonville Beach on November 22, 1994.

Bowles was found guilty of three counts of murder and sentenced to death, but the sentence was reversed by the Florida Supreme Court, when they determined that the court erred by allowing the jury to hear that Bowles hated homosexuals and that the victim was gay. He was given a new sentencing hearing, and in 1999 again received the death penalty.

Bowles was executed by lethal injection on August 22, 2019, at Florida State Prison in Starke. Bowles ate three cheeseburgers, french fries and bacon as a last meal.

Bowles pleaded guilty in May 1996 to the murder of Walter Jamelle Hinton, Jacksonville, November 17, 1994. Hinton died from injuries sustained when Bowles struck Hinton’s head with a 40-pound stepstone. Hinton was asleep at the time. Bowles also stuffed a towel down Hinton’s throat during the struggle. Bowles was sentenced to death for Hinton’s killing. Bowles, who was on death row for Hinton’s murder, pleaded guilty in August 1997 to beating and strangling Roberts.

He was sentenced to six-years in prison for beating and sexually assaulting a girlfriend in 1982. After his release from prison in 1991, he was convicted for unarmed robbery in a theft of an elderly lady’s purse. He was sentenced to four years more in prison and released in two.

On March 15, 1994, in Daytona Beach, Florida, Bowles killed his first known victim, John Hardy Roberts, aged 59, who had offered him a temporary place to live. Bowles beat and strangled him to death, and then stole his credit card. Police soon considered him a suspect after finding his fingerprints and probation records at the crime scene.
