On 17 June 1957, he was born in Bramhapuri District of Maharashtra to the famed Bhusari family. His grandfather, Late Advocate Bhaskarrao Bhusari, was the Taluka Sanghchalak. His parents Ku. Suman Chawji & Sh. Yashwant and Suman Chawji were married in 1950. Ravindra Bhusari is the elder brother of Rekha, the eldest sister Ranja, and the youngest sister Madhuri. Since his childhood, he was a Sangh Swayamsewak. He is one the most prominent intellectuals associated to the RSS. His father was a farmer, and he lived in Village Vasa, Gadchiroli. He was a principally commerce student and received his post-graduate degree in commerce from Nagpur University.

Ravindra Bhusari, Maharashtra State General secretary, was one of few people who led the BJP campaign within the state in the historic May 2014 Lok Sabha election. This was followed by the Vidhan Sabha Elections in October 2014. Both elections were won by BJP.

The Bhusari family moved to Nagpur to provide education for his three sisters. Bhusari was a Nagpur student at Dharampeth High School. He represented the school in cricket and kabaddi as well as kho-kho, football, and hockey. He was elected Dharampeth College’s general secretary in 1976-1977. Bhusari’s association to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh goes back to his childhood with the late Vilas Fadnavis. In 1981, Bhusari officially volunteered to become a pracharak (full time worker) for RSS. Bhusari was assigned several key positions in Vidarbha, Western India (Maharashtra Gujarat, Goa), and as the office secretary at the RSS headquarters in Nagpur for the past few years. He was also a part of the Vidarbha region’s Akola. He was a key organizer of the Deepawali program at Akola City in 1993. He was one of the main organizers of Vidarabha Region’s “Mahashibir”, 35000 RSS Swayamsewaks, in 1998.

In 2015, Bhusari became a recipient of Nagpur Heroes Award and the following year had issued notices to authorities who violated National Green Tribunal Act.
