Yussuff is Nigerian of Nigerian descent, but was born in Poplar (London) on 23 September 1989. As an abbreviation for his middle name Olatokunbo, he is sometimes called Toks. Yussuff started his career at Charlton Athletic Academy at the age 17 as a trainee. At the age of 17, Yussuff was a trainee at Charlton Athletic Academy. He also scored 8 league goals in 2007-08 Premier Academy League for the under-18 team. However, he was unable to make it into the first team. On 1 November 2008, the 19-year old midfielder was loaned to Conference side Northwich Victoria for a one-month contract. Yussuff made his Northwich Victoria debut on November 8, 2008, in a 1-0 loss to Burton Albion. After his debut, Yussuff made six more appearances for “The Vics”, his last being a 1-0 loss to Altrincham on 26/12/2008. He then returned to his parent club. The Addicks’ only appearance would be as a substitute for Lloyd Sam in the 79th minute of the 2008-09 FA Cup. Charlton Athletic defeated Norwich City 1-0 at Carrow Road in front of a crowd numbering 13,997. Yussuff was temporarily loaned to Conference side Ebbsfleet Uni for the rest of the 2008-09 season. On 31 March 2009, Yussuff made his debut for Ebbsfleet United in a 1-0 victory over Altrincham. Yussuff scored his professional league debut for Ebbsfleet United in a 2-1 win over Lewes on 13 April 2009. Yussuff appeared in 8 league games for “The Fleet”, the last of which was a 2-2 draw against Salisbury City, 26 April 2009. He then returned to his parent club. Charlton Athletic released Yussuff at the conclusion of the 2008-09 campaign.
Yussuff signed on 30 June 2010 for Conference side AFC Wimbledon. In an 83rd minute substitute for Sammy Moore, Yussuff made his debut with “The Dons” in a 2-0 victory over Histon on 17 August 2010. Yussuff made his debut for “The Dons”, in a 1-0 loss to Rushden & Diamonds, on 24 August 2010. On 9 October 2010, he scored his first goal for AFC Wimbledon, scoring a 2-1 victory over Wrexham. Yussuff was an integral member of the “The Dons'” team during their promotion push. He scored 6 league goals in 40 games in the 2010-11 season. Terry Brown, the manager of “The Dons”, selected Yussuff to play in the 2011 Conference Play-off final against Luton Town. This was in front of an 18,195 crowd. After the match ended at 0-0, AFC Wimbledon won 4-3 in penalty shoot- out. This resulted in AFC Wimbledon being promoted to the football league. Yussuff is also remembered for being in the starting eleven of AFC Wimbledon’s first football league match against Bristol Rovers, which ended in a 3-2 loss. Yussuff scored his debut football league goal on 13 August 2011, in a 2-0 win over Dagenham & Redbridge. Yussuff had 5 goals in the league, making 40 appearances in the 2011-12 season. Yussuff was a 100th league player for AFC Wimbledon, winning 1-0 over Aldershot Town 16 March 2013. AFC Wimbledon released Yussuff in January 2014. He had made 150 league appearances.
Yussuff was a trial player for League One side Gillingham in July 2009. He impressed Mark Stimson enough that he was offered a one-year contract for 2009-10 season. Yussuff was an 87-minute substitute for Jack Payne during a 5-0 victory over Swindon Town on August 8, 2009. Yussuff was also used as a substitute in the second half for Jack Payne in a 1-0 loss to Norwich City in Round 2 of the 2009-10 Football League Trophy. Yussuff would make seven more league appearances for Gillingham during the 2009-10 season. The last was a 1-1 draw against Hartlepool United. After a 3-0 defeat to Wycombe Wanderers on May 8, 2010, Gillingham were demoted to League Two at season’s end. Mark Stimson was fired on May 10, 2010. After Andy Hessenthaler, the new manager of “Gills”, decided not to renew Yussuff’s contract, Yussuff was released by the club on May 11.
